From August 14 to 16, Szczecin will once again become the sailing capital of Poland. Ahead of us are three days filled with concerts, meetings with exceptional sailing ships, cruises on the Oder River, sports emotions, and attractions for whole families.

Żagle 2026 is coming soon Żagle (Sails) is one of the largest outdoor events organized in Szczecin, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of residents and tourists. This year’s edition will combine sailing tradition with a rich cultural, recreational, and educational program prepared on both banks of the Oder River.

Żagle 2026. Music concerts Although the first tall ships will start arriving in Szczecin as early as Thursday, August 13, the main program of the event will begin on Friday, August 14. Performing on the main stage as part of the Eska Music Tour will be: the Maritime University of Technology Choir and the Voo Voo band, Oskar Cyms, IRA, and Dawid Kwiatkowski. The musical atmosphere will be complemented by Szczecin bands on the stage in Łasztownia. Saturday evening will belong to artists of the young generation. Performing on the main stage will be Young Leosia, Kinny Zimmer, Blacha 2115, and Janusz Walczuk. Lovers of maritime vibes will also be able to visit the shanty stage at the Food Port in Łasztownia. The program includes concerts by the bands EKT Gdynia, North Wind, IGA’cki Band, and the Zawisza Czarny Male Shanty Choir. There will also be Irish dance workshops and shows prepared by the Sedina group.

Sailing ships and cruises on the Oder River During the Żagle event, visitors will be able to tour the decks of the vessels and take a cruise on the Oder River. Over 30 vessels from Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavian countries will sail into Szczecin. A special guest will be the Baltic Beauty sailing ship, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. A new figurehead will be carved for it exactly during the event. For the first time, the Dutch sailing ship Minerva will call at Szczecin. After renovation, the well-known ORP Iskra will also return to the public, and history buffs will be able to see the legendary icebreaker Stettin, built in 1933 right here in Szczecin.

Sports and attractions for whole families Great fun can be accompanied by sports emotions. On Saturday morning, participants of the Run under the Sails (Bieg pod Żaglami) will run along the Oder boulevards, and the Regatta for the Cup of the Mayor of Szczecin will take place on Lake Dąbie. During the day on Grodzka Island, you will be able to meet players of the Chemik Police volleyball team and participate in sports activities together with them. Throughout the weekend, numerous thematic zones and family attractions will be waiting for the participants. In the children’s zone by the Mickiewicz Monument, there will be circus workshops, theatrical performances, concerts, animations, and games. The Family Zone under the Sails will operate in Łasztownia with ecological animations, sports activities, and a relaxation zone. There will also be a foam party, art workshops, shows, family games, as well as popular attractions such as the Wheel of Szczecin, an amusement park, and an extensive gastronomic offer.

Orchestras, majorettes, and a drone show One of the most spectacular elements of the program will be the 9th Brass Band Festival for the Cup of the Mayor of Szczecin. Orchestras and majorettes will march through the city streets, presenting impressive parade formations. On Friday evening over Grodzka Island, an equally spectacular drone show will take place. Light animations inspired by Szczecin, water, and the city’s sailing tradition will be created based on designs prepared by students of Szczecin primary schools.

A weekend full of goodness The biggest stars of this festival will of course be the sailing ships, but a lot of great things will also be waiting on land. During the three days of the event, you can also visit the Fair under the Sails, the Artists’ Alley, the West Pomeranian Flavors Alley, Food Port, and numerous educational, health, and safety zones prepared together with the event partners.
