“Strażak-28” is one of the most modern fire and service vessels on the Baltic Sea. The ship was put into operation in 2023, marking a milestone in the modernization of the Szczecin-Świnoujście rescue fleet. Built with the toughest challenges in mind, it is a key element of the fire and gas protection of our waters.
Power and Precision: Like its sister ship, “Strażak-28” is packed with technology. It has powerful fire extinguishing systems, but its role goes far beyond just pouring water. The ship is adapted to assist the largest vessels entering the port, including LNG carriers. Thanks to specialized gas detection and crew protection systems, it can operate safely in explosion-hazard zones.
Not just fire: In winter, “Strażak-28” turns into an icebreaker. Thanks to its reinforced hull (L2 ice class), it ensures that the Szczecin-Świnoujście fairway remains navigable even during freezing months. It is a ship with immense bollard pull, which allows it to efficiently tow even very large vessels that have broken down.
