The first masts are appearing on the horizon, and the waterfront is filling with the sounds of preparations. Only hours remain until the start of the sailing celebration.
Across the entire event area, there’s a buzz of activity. Since the early morning, the sound of drills, hammers, and sound checks has been in the air. Along the promenades, stalls, stage structures, and food points are springing up, while technical crews fine-tune lighting and decorations. Fluttering flags and banners announce that the moment eagerly awaited by sailing enthusiasts and lovers of the maritime atmosphere is almost here.
Event staff are inspecting every element of the infrastructure. The final installations are being assembled, power supplies and safety measures checked. Cleaning and medical services are preparing to welcome thousands of visitors – marking out information points, testing safety procedures, and planning operations to ensure the entire event runs smoothly. The scent of freshly prepared food drifts through the air, music from rehearsals can be heard in the distance, and more and more people are stopping to take photos and talk about what awaits them in the coming days.
The water is also coming alive. One by one, vessels are sailing into Szczecin and mooring along the quays. Their silhouettes reflect on the water’s surface, while the sound of horns blends with applause and cheers from the welcoming crowds.
The sight of the boulevards slowly filling with people is a clear signal – the great sailing festival is almost here. Tomorrow, at exactly noon, all zones will be open to visitors.
