Water for Szczecin – visit the ZWiK zone

There is no sailing event without water! During Żagle 2026, the delivery of water attractions, as well as tap water itself, will traditionally be provided by the event partner, the Water and Sewerage Company (ZWiK) in Szczecin.

How is the water that flows from our taps every day produced? Why is it worth saving, and how do we care for the aquatic environment? Answers to these and many other questions can be found in the “Water for Szczecin” zone, prepared in cooperation with the Water and Sewerage Company.

Educational animations, experiments, and attractions will be waiting for visitors, allowing both children and adults to learn interesting facts about Szczecin’s water and the work of the municipal waterworks. Learning will be combined with good fun and practical knowledge useful every day.

The ZWiK zone will be located in Łasztownia, near the Cranesaurs (Dźwigozaury).

Opening hours:

  • Friday, August 14: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday, August 15: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Sunday, August 16: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Moreover, the Water and Sewerage Company in Szczecin ensures proper hydration not only for the crews but also for guests and tourists visiting the event area. 5 drinking fountains and special water curtains will be set up on both sides of the Oder River so that everyone can quench their thirst and cool down in case of hot weather.

You will find the drinking fountains:

  • By the Children’s Zone near the Adam Mickiewicz Monument
  • On the upper terrace of the Chrobry Embankment (Wały Chrobrego), near the Maritime University building
  • At the intersection of Nabrzeże Wieleckie and Komandorska streets
  • Right next to the ZWiK zone in Łasztownia, opposite the Cranesaurs (Dźwigozaury)
  • By the Food Port near the Szczecin-Shanty Stage

We will also be prepared for heatwaves. Additional water curtains will appear in several places if forecasts indicate approaching heat. Emergency services and individual districts will be on high alert. Employees of wastewater treatment plants and water production facilities will also be on full alert. All this to ensure that the entire event runs smoothly and safely in terms of water supply and sanitation.
