Kapitan Borchardt is a vessel that needs no introduction in Szczecin. She is the oldest sailing ship flying the Polish flag, named after the famous writer and sailor Karol Olgierd Borchardt, author of the iconic Znaczy Kapitan.

The history of this three-masted gaff schooner began in 1918 in the Netherlands. Originally, she served as a cargo vessel under the name Nora, carrying goods across the waters of Northern Europe. Over more than a century, she changed names, owners, and purposes, before coming under the Polish flag in 2011 and receiving the name of the legendary captain.

Today, the sailing ship is a symbol of maritime tradition and an excellent training vessel. Thanks to her seaworthiness and unique atmosphere, she has welcomed thousands of young people on board, promoting maritime culture and nautical education.
