Sunday brought a whirlwind of moods – radiant and rainy, energetic and nostalgic. From this mix, an unforgettable day emerged, crowned by an extraordinary concert.
The morning greeted us with heavy, overcast skies. But that didn’t stop residents and tourists from flocking to the vessels moored along our welcoming quays. The Lasztownia zones were bustling with activity, attracting fans of both nautical melodies and more modern rhythms.
The weather tried to throw a wrench in our plans, capriciously changing its mood throughout the day. As a result, the brass band parade was cancelled. However, the main highlight of the 7th Festival of Brass Bands for the Mayor of Szczecin’s Cup – the parade drill show – went ahead as scheduled. We also had the pleasure of awarding the winners of the competition. The Grand Prix went to the Krasocin Volunteer Fire Brigade Youth Brass Band.
Sunday was filled with sports, stage concerts at Lasztownia, and thrilling fun at the amusement parks. Despite the unpredictable weather, the avenues and fairs were alive with visitors, and the Food Port’s tents and umbrellas provided the perfect shelter to enjoy gourmet dishes from around the world.
A spontaneous musical highlight came from the crew of the sailing ship Guayas. With their charisma and energy, the Ecuadorians quickly drew a crowd at the foot of Wały Chrobrego, turning the space into an impromptu dance floor and celebration of joy.
Electronic music and dance rhythms reigned supreme on Grodzka Island. However, the biggest crowds were drawn by the artists under the main stage. Ikarus Feel, Mery Spolsky, Smolik/Kev Fox, but most of all Krzysztof Zalewski immersed the audience in a sea of sounds and sailed on an energetic cruise.
On Monday we will bid farewell to our wonderful guests. From the very morning, stock up on tissues and wave goodbye to our sailing friends. Between 9:00 and 12:00 the traffic on the Oder River will be at its heaviest and there will certainly be plenty of emotion.
However, we are not saying goodbye, but see you around.
