Sailing Tales and Folk Ballads

These concerts are a must at Żagle! On Saturday and Sunday, the stage by the Food Port will be ruled by shanties full of maritime tales and lively folk tunes.

For two days – 16 and 17 August – the Szczecin/Shanty Stage in Łasztownia will be filled with shanties and folk music, taking listeners on a musical voyage to the farthest corners of the world.

On Saturday, 16 August, concerts will start at 3:00 PM. First on stage will be Sklep z Ptasimi Piórami, whose poetic sailing ballads will set the audience in the mood for atmospheric port evenings. Next at the helm will be Queen Anne’s Revenge – a Szczecin band known for their energetic performances of traditional shanties. Right after, Dair will present Celtic-folk sounds, including original interpretations of classic maritime songs.

Saturday evening will be full of sea legends – quite literally. Mietek Folk, a legend of the Polish shanty scene, will perform hits such as Bitwa and Hej, me Bałtyckie Morze. The audience will also hear Spanish Ladies performed by Ryczące Dwudziestki. The evening will be enriched by North Cape, the energetic Wikingowie, and the dance-inspiring Swing Lovers.

Sunday, 17 August, brings another serving of maritime sounds. Kicking off will be Klang, famous for traditional forebitter songs. Folk Wagon will present traditional folk melodies in modern arrangements. The afternoon will belong to seasoned shanty veterans – Stary Szmugler will take listeners on a journey through portside tales, and Perły i Łotry will sing the sailing anthem Gdzie ta keja, echoing along the waterfront. Żagle will also feature the energetic The Nierobbers. Closing the musical voyage will be Ethno Flow, blending elements of ethnic music with nautical inspirations to create extraordinary soundscapes.

The Szczecin/Shanty Stage, located in Łasztownia by the Food Port, will host performances from Thursday to Sunday. Two days of shanty concerts during Żagle 2025 are a unique opportunity to be swept away by waves of music, meet legends of the sailing stage, and feel the atmosphere of a true maritime adventure.
