On Both Sides of the Oder, with Exceptional Support and a Fantastic Sailing Atmosphere – The Upcoming “Run under the Sails”

The second day of Żagle will start with sports, showing that this festival is also about promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. As part of the summer running series Bulwarove Runs under the slogan “Burn calories with EcoGenerator. Drink Szczecin tap water”, on 16 August runners will take part in the “Run under the Sails”. The route, traditionally around 5 km, will cover both banks of the Oder River.

The start is set for 9:00 AM from a location well-known to participants – WOŚP Square at the end of Łasztownia. From there, runners will head along Nabrzeże Starówka, bypass Grodzka Island, cross the pontoon bridge, and run through Chrobry Embankment before turning back along Piast Boulevard. The return will once again cross the pontoon bridge, circle the Harbourmaster’s Office, and finish back at WOŚP Square – to claim their medals. This year’s medal will feature a majestic white-tailed eagle, adding to the event’s ornithological collection.

After the main race, at around 10:15 AM, the Umbriaga Cat Races will take place. To earn a medal with the cat’s image, participants will run distances from 100 to 600 metres – depending on their age category.

• 16 August (Race Day) | 7:00–8:30 AM – for participants from outside Szczecin only, at the Race Office in the running village on Łasztownia, at WOŚP Square (Nabrzeże Starówka, near the “Szczecin” sign)

Traffic & Parking: Due to changes in traffic organisation, runners arriving by car must present their race number at the checkpoint to be allowed to park in the blue zone on Łasztownia. After the race, vehicles must leave the event area immediately.
