This is the only ketch in Poland with a rare type of rigging known as Va Marie, featuring a ribbed gaff.

The vessel was built in 1948 at the Northern Shipyard in Gdańsk (then operating under the name Shipyard No. 3). It was constructed as a wooden, oak-built fishing boat of the MIR-20A type — a modified version of the pre-war MIR-20, which had been widely used. The design documentation was prepared during the occupation by a team led by engineer Wojciech Orszulok, who would later go on to design numerous ships and yachts, including the schooner Zew Morza. A total of 16 cutters of this type were built, but only one has survived to this day.
